The Solution Engineer (SE) is a key member of TeraMach’s Professional Services (PS) team. Along with the PS Management team and Solution Consultants (SC’s), the SE provides TeraMach its greatest asset and value-add: its Solutions and Technical expertise.
With deep subject-matter expertise, the SE delivers on PS engagements and supports pre-sales opportunities. The SE supports the Sales team by developing and aligning technical customer requirements to hardware, software or professional services solutions by providing Product-specific analysis and insights resulting in recommendations.
The SE is responsible for the execution of PS consulting and implementation engagements. Being the primary delivery resource on implementation engagements, the SE is responsible for maintaining high levels of technical competency and relevant technical certifications to ensure TeraMach delivery is aligned to both the TeraMach delivery framework as well as Vendor-driven best practices. 
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Pre-Sales
  • Delivers TeraMach consulting engagements  (i.e. Assessments/gap analysis, strategies, Architecture, Design, etc) and implementation projects (e.g. build, upgrade, etc);
  • Installs and configures software and/or  hardware according to the design and best practice guideline for product implementation;
  • Assists in the proposal process by developing the technical response to RFPs, RVDs, and other sales related vehicles which includes product research, competitive analysis, write-up, architecture & design and testing in the LAB;
  • Interfaces with internal and external subject-matter experts to verify the accuracy of the technical deliverables;
Training and Certification
  • Ensures that company deadlines for assigned vendor certification compliance are met which includes keeping required existing certifications up to date while completing newly assigned certifications;
  • Ensures ongoing development on assigned technical and consulting expertise which includes the potential need to attend online, boot camp, ITL, knowledge base, self -study, shadowing, mentoring,  webinars, seminars, workshops, or  hands-on training in Lab;
 Technical and Functional Competencies
Compute Technologies:
  • Background in Intel server architecture in particular IBM, HP, Dell and Cisco , some exposure to Unix would be an asset
  • Some Design, hands-on and implementation experience in one or many of the following: IBM Server (Unix, P-Series), HP Server ( Unix Integrity), HP Rack Server (Intel, AMD, Proliant), Cisco (UCS - B and C Series), Dell Server (PowerEdge);
  • Experience in install and operate UNIX, Linux OR Microsoft operating system
  • Some experience in trouble-shooting application performance and server related issues.
Virtualization Technologies:
  • Strong background in virtualization technologies in hypervisor such as VMware ESX, Citrix Xenapp, IBM PowerVM, Oracle container, RedHat KVM;
  • Experience in Virtual Desktop such as VMware View or Citrix XenDesktop;
  • Design, hands-on and implementation experience in one or many of the following: VMware vSphere/ESX/ESXi/SRM, vCenter utilizing HA, DRS running on large enterprise servers.
  • Some Design, hands-on and implementation experience in one or many of the following: vCloud Director/Service Director, VMWare Vshield, VcOpps/vChargeback
  • Experience with Windows server platforms and server administration;
  • Extensive working knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and DHCP, particularly as it relates to Microsoft technologies;
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Network and Server in design and implementation; 
  • Experience in Microsoft 2000/2003/2008 server, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL; (preferred)
 Functional Competencies
  • Represents TeraMach in a professional manner to customers, partners and other TeraMach personnel at all times.  May be required to support and train customers

  • Ability to perform under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Education & Experience
University degree or college diploma in technology and 3-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
